Hi

The speakers in the rear door (next to the handle) only produce sound some of the time, i.e one minute they will kick in and the next the wont be working. This leads me to think theres a dodgy connection.

After removing the speaker from the door today and finding no loose connection I am now at a loss as to where to look. Is there anywhere else on the car that the speakers are connected that I can get to (bearing in mind that I have no experience in this what so ever)?

Any ideas?

not sure but might it be something with the wire in a plug connected to the player? is the other tweeter playing fine?

Its both of them. After listening more closely I've found that they are both on all the time, but they are just really faint and fuzzy and the they will clear up occasionally.

I have part solved the problem by unplugging them at the connection in the boot(under the rear speaker) so at least now they dont get annoying, but obviously I have no sound from them at all.

I tried reinforcing the connections in the rear but this seemed to have no effect.

Mine had this problem, but was ok after I unplugged and replugged them in to the connections in the boot. Also, I have not had any problems since I changed my headunit

The problem I had once is that all the speakers on the left side of the car only work wen I turn right which was funny and annoyin, the problem was some loose wires in the back of the CD player itself.. U can check on that if the problem is still there now !

the tweeter in the rear door is wired from the rear speaker next to the parcle shelf pull the carpet down and check the conections on the speaker if is is not there check back to the radio

Might be a silly question but would it be obvious if these little speakers were working? I don't hear anything from mine so I assume they are not!

I noticed within 3 days of getting the car that the small door speaker was intermittently going on and off, so I presume it is obvious

I suppose it depends on the fader settings, etc and how good your ears are.

They were unplugged in the boot (lord knows why) but yay, working now!
