Do manual 130 tdi's have 6 speeds

Featured Replies

Does the manual 130 tdi have 6 speeds like the fabia and octy.

And what about the manual 2.5 tdi?

The 1.9 TDi 130 does not, the 2.5 V6 TDi does.

Confused how? The only diesels that come with a 6 speed are the 2.5 V6 and the later 2.0 TDi's. I had a 54 plate TDi 130 and that had 5 speed gearbox and my father had a 53 plate TDi 130 and that was the same, both cars were Comfort level.

I'm confused 'cus the advert clearly states it is a 1.9 130pd with 6 speeds which you say doesn't exist

As far as I know, no Superbs were made with a Cat III diesel engine and a 6 speed box, although some VWs and Audis were.

It seems that the 6 speed box is not as reliable as the 5 speeder - there have been quite a few reports of failures on the other clones of this vehicle, which have used the box for longer. I suspect they shortened the spacing between the pinion bearings on the final drive to make room for the extra gear within the same casing length. Coupled with the higher torque of the later diesels, this might not have been a good idea.

rotodiesel.

Mine is a five speed box, never seen one any different

I suspect the advert is a mistake.

Passat 130 Bhp models have more torque than 5 speed 130 BHP Superbs

There is a website out there which gives a llist of all 1896cc engines and bhp/torque levels. If I can find it I will post it

I just imagine they've presumed its a 6spd when filling out the ad, as all other PD130 cars they've seen have a 6spd, that kind of thinking and never bothered to check. Or its simply a typo.

Ok, now i probably am going blind and daft but no where on the 6th advert down does it say anything about it being a 6 speeder. What typo? Where? Does it say 6 speed?

Why, i cant see where it says how many speeds the gearbox has on that advert. Or am i going blind?

Advert has obviously been replaced. My original post was over 2 week ago,but trust me it said 6 speed manual.

Sorry, i thought it might be something like that.
