Abs

Featured Replies

Hi... im a newbie on here.. does anyone know if i can reduce the sensivity of my abs as if i hit a leaf the abs kicks in and its taking me forever to stop if im hard braking..

My GF has a mini and the brakes are AMAZING!! looks like VAG are skrimping on costs

Oh i have a sat ibiza not a Skoda :-p

if you really don't want ABS just snip one of the ABS sensor wires. By the way - please don't! ;) It means no ABS and no ASR

There must be a reason for the ABS to kick in, no? Either the wheels are about to lock up (which means brakes are fine ;)) I can stop plenty fast without the ABS kicking in so maybe it's poor tyres?

Pretty sure the ABS settings cannot be tweaked with vagcom

thanks for your help :-)

It depends. Some systems do have the option to code them for "bad roads". However, I'm not really sure what this does, nor can we advise whether the module in question supports this without complete details from the module.

what causes it you any idea??

do you know wher th ABS control modual is located on a 6L Chasis.

in addition to this i had the catalyst bank 1 below efficiency code up earlier!! not very happy about it all had loads of problems with the car...think it needs to be going!!

I would think the ABS control unit is the thing attached to the bulkhead - kind of below and behind the airbox. Looks a bit like a square ECU, but is obvious when you see the solid brake pipes going into and out of it. :)
