Did you know there was one? something to do with the gearlever/gearbox. I didn't until they told me they had done it when I picked mine up after big service and cambelt. By the sounds of it, SUK don't notify everyone..just a small percentage.

Interestingly, the only one listed here is the fuel pump one....

As you wish, but I am only repeating how it was described they did to me. They said recall , not me.

Had mine done ages ago ....I think it was a small plate fixed to the top/side of the gearbox.....but nothing serious so didn't need a recall

Wasn't directly having a dig at you. Most people seem to think that if a dealer does a modification or fix to their car it's a recall.

So what models and years are affected and what are the symptoms?

There arent any symptoms as such its a precaution on manual gearbox models. Same campaign on the Passat aswell.

There is a small hole above the flywheel in the bell housing, the plate covers this so nothing runs down onto the clutch etc.
