Featured Replies

hello all,

i am now officially in the Skoda club, picked up my car from Griffin tax free in Brighton and am very happy with the car. I got a 1.6 fsi Ambient in Flemenco Red with a dealer fitted tow bar. i drove it back to germany and the ride was great didn't thrash it as it new but the fuel was great and have a six cd changer ment no disc changing.:D

i,ve had a week with it now and am learning little tricks like putting the wippers in to service position to change them, all new to me.

i've changed the headlights and got the left hand fog light on(using a cable to connect right to left) all with the help of people on this site so a big thanks there.

only one query can i use v power petlol(100 ron) as the hand book doesn't give a clear yes or no

Thank all and look forward to enjoying my new car

Congrats :)

Glad you like the car, and found the site useful.

Someone with more knowledge will be along shortly to advise about your fuel rating.

Yes you can use vPower! Gain will be marginally though

According to the brochure/handbook the 1.6 FSI engine (115bhp) should be fed on 98 octane but can use normal 95 octane "with lower efficiency".

Therefore SUPER unleaded is required e.g. BP Ultimate, Tesco 99 and of course Shell V-power (99 octane).

I have run my cooking 1.4 mpi Fabia on Shell V-power, and previously Optimax, for some time and if every I revert to anything else the response of the engine drops off.

My advice - if you have V-power available, buy it!
