Fabia 1.4 16V - battery change

Featured Replies

Hi there

We came out one morning to find that the battery was dead. We jumped started it and drove for about a mile and then the EPC warning light came on. The engine was running as normal but we decided to return home. We got a new battery and fitted it. The car started first time but the EPC warning light came on and remained on. We found that when we accelerated the revs did not pick up. It just idled but we couldn't get any more power out of it. Is this something to do with changing the battery?

Any help appreciated.

Usually when the battery is disconnected or replaced the thrttle body will need to be reset. The fact that the EPC light is on confirms this.

Either way you will need to get diagnostic onto the car and set the throttle body and clear the code.

If the car is in the dealer a readiness code should be generated and then the car will run fine.
