For some reason the airbag light is on permanently. Does anyone know if there is a way of turning the light off or is it a case of having to go to a Skoda Dealer to get it checked out.

You should have it checked out. VAG-COM can do this if you don't want to visit a dealer.

I had this when I had a Leon Cupra. It was the airbag sender switch. Took minutes but did have to be diagnosed via VAG COM

I had mine re-set at a dealers,cost me
