Has anyone ever tried...

...driving their Fabia at high speed on an empty road with wing mirrors folded to see if it makes any difference to top speed?

No, but I did do it with a Superb that was on loan to a pikey friend. :D Trying to chase his Octy RS on the way to Duxford, it made negligable difference.

HTH

replace them with dtm mirrors.

No difference I reckon. I found the general shape of the car started to cause the weirdest noises at 140mph (on autobahns) - it was coming from all around the car, so I don't think was the mirrors.

Thanks Paul  Got me googling for M3 mirros now.... :D Are electric mirrors 4 pin? :)

still have some octy mk1 dtms lying around,,,

Have you tried folding the back seats down as well????

Think they'll fit and operate all the controls still?

I cant find the poster on the net, but last year when i was in the dealership there was a fabia poster, of a black fabia facing head on, and it had much larger wing mirrors with the slogan 'Small car, Big Sound' or somthing i cant remember. But it was very subtle.

The mirrors were about 50% bigger than normal, Maybe mill brought that car in the poster??

You forgot to add that the speeding test was on a private road too ;)
