Which car to replace a Mazda 6 2.0D TS2 [143]?

Featured Replies

Got to replace this car at work on the car list, after rejecting the last one due to an ongoing issue. Not too much choice really - around similar rental rate is Octy K+L, or Mondeo, Passat 1.9 SE TDI, etc.

Any ideas?

Now I come to think of it, need to get rid of the vectra off the list as well! :thumbdwn:

I am thinking of putting the Octy on as it's maybe the best thing spec-wise, but any idea what engine it has? Would it be a lot slower than a 143hp Mazda? Also don't know how it would be received but I may get one in as a demo vehicle to get round any misconceptions and let the driver(s) have a play. Or may see if Skoda will give additional support terms and reduce the costs of the rentals. hmmm..

what was the fault on the Mazda ?

Shuddering/vibration in the pedals when at 60 in 5th. Dealer couldnt find what was wrong with it (after 5 goes), and then said it was a 'characteristic' ;)

A friend of mine has one and has had nothing but trouble with it, it's only 18 months old and looks like crap :thumbdwn: .

If your choice does include the Octy L&K then that is by far the highest spec on the list you have, cracking choice with the 2.0 PD140 engine

Isnt there a 1.9 TDI as well? Any idea on hp?

Mazda have given very little support to the dealers. We took it to a couple and neither could sort it out. The driver even had to take them round each time just to demonstrate the fault was still there. Don't know if it's just the new model, as the previous Mazdas we have (136 bhp) are all fine.

hmmm, 105 bhp, seems slightly underpowered. Will have to look at the 2.0 then!

Don't forget it will be the NEW L&K with a vastly improved spec over the outgoing model.

Methinks everyone would be impressed with it as the alternatives won't touch it for standard equipment.
