flashing lights on pod update ?

Featured Replies

Well you know by now my saga with the flashing lights on the pod, the indicator/ <1> and when i get to 2k revs it beeps.

Well on saturday (6hrs) i was under the car on ramps and noticed that the connector at side of gearbox with the blue wire (cant remember what its called) was looking a bit sorry, checked it out, repaired it ( soldered new wire ) and checked n cleaned the alternator wires and battery terminals...

Now since sunday i have had no flashes/beeps errrr nothing at all ( WEEEEUUUUUU) so if this has cured it then i am really surprised that this wire has caused the flashing and beeping from pod.

All is well so far and getting codes checked n reset tomorrow ( air bag light on ) so i saved my self around 100 quid for a replacement pod and 60-80 quid fitting and recode..... you dont realise how quite my car sounds now even if its a diesel...hahahaha.

Just thought i would share this, finally ( maybe fingers xsd ) the saga is over..

There are few referances to that multi plug and wire on this site already (some pics somewhere) especially on the SDi. But normally it causes charging faults and the battery light doesnt come up on the dash.

Strange that Lummox because at latter end the battery light was flashing as well in sync with others ??????? as i say not sure if that was the fault or contributing fault but seems ok now.......( as i smack my head, touch wood as to say )

When i checked the charge, nothing on it read 13.35 ish but with engine running was 14.45 ish so alternator seems ok for now.

i believe the <1> is for towing purposes but no towing stuff fitted.

Anyways, i parked up tonight had me tea and whent back out, fugger started flashing n beeping again but intermittent.......so i havent fully solved it.

going for a code read in the morning at DM Keiths in bradford so will c whats what.

i thought iy might be to do with me aftermarket radio because when the car was idling tonight i put the radio on and wacked the volume up with high setting equalizer and it flashed n beeped, i turned it off then it stopped, but did it again short time after when the radio was off.

if the code reading and no joy tomorrow then gonna se about px for summat else, preferably another fabia but might c about TDI if i can find some where to px mine.......on a good day when no flashing or beeping.....

i am apprehensive about replacing the pod, alternator as they are expensive if it doesnt solve the problem........stuck for ideas now.......
