Can the Bulb warning system be disabled ???

Featured Replies

I have an 06 TDI Fabia with a bulb warning system that will just not stop pinging :mad::mad: The dealer does not have a clue, they have changed every bulb and cleaned the ''contacts''...... I have been driving 25 years and have never had a car with this worthless system before, i can live without it :cool:

Can i get rid of the bloody thing ??

Does the car have Xenons??

I would have thought it would be possible to recode the dash to get rid of the failure light.

But thats not sorting the problem which the dealer should do, the system is there for a reason.

Nope, just the standard bulbs ??? I assume this has an impact ?

Yes it would if it had Xenons as the bulb failure light also doubles up as a fault light for the Xenon system.

I assume all the bulbs fitted are correct, no single pin bulbs wedged into the twin holders on the back?

When does the light come on? All the time? When brakes are pressed?

All the correct bulbs are fitted (the dealer has changed them all), since the bulbs were changed the instances of it going off have reduced. It comes on every time i put the keys in to start the car, it then stays on for around 20 secs or so then goes out, it does come in in the middle of a journey ever now and again and then goes out again after a few seconds..... very odd. My really concern is that these type of electrical gremlins can be really hard to find.
