I might be needing new brakes shortly and i like the look of the red brakes used on the Ibiza Cupra.

Does anyone know what these brakes are, whether they will fit an '01 Octavia and where to purchase them?

Are you on about the latest CUPRA. If so their AP Racing calipers with 312mm discs.

But are they red?

Leon Cupra ones also fit, expect to pay around £1k for a set up.

IIRC the MK4 Ibiza Cupra ones use the regular 312mm disc.

And what engine is the Octavia?

Unless you actually need new calipers or want a serious caliper upgrade, why not paint the existing ones with a specialtist caliper paint?

I've painted calipers in the past and it looked awful. I like my mods reasonably subtle and it looked like a huge afterthought.

Anyone experienced the vinyl decals that are on ebay. Heat resistant to 300oC and no adverse affect (supposedly). They have skoda written on which looks crap but plain ones should look ok:

How do you get a plain sticker with nothing on it???

I've seen it done well, and the biggest issue was just how glaring the yellow paint was against the silver rims and black paint on the car in question (mate's brother's Supra 4).

I dont see how stickers will work on the rough surface of the calipers on an Octavia.

Lettering on clear vinyl you mean? If so, I'd call that without the lettering "clear self-adhesive sheet".

What I thought was meant was lettering or not on a shaped piece of self-coloured self-adhesive vinyl.
