Is there Hope? (Skoda Fabia: foot space VRS vs the rest)

Featured Replies

ummmm, Kinda strange yeah... but somthing has been bugging me since I was looking at Fabia's. I was looking at a number of them (Just a "could I rule this car out?" speculative viewing and certain models seemed to have more foot space than others...

My Question is therefore in reference to the above: Are there differing amounts of space with each spec (Classic, Elegance, VRS) / Engine sizes? or is it just than the VRS is bigger?

(as I can get my left foot all the way around the clutch but only with the VRS, I have size 12 feet it's fairly important I have resonable access to the 'correct' pedal rather than all at once, and all bleedin' car have FWD so it's really just shtty design if it doesn't all fit?)

All comments welcome people, and a Preemptive "heya" to everyone as well :D

P.S The test drive/s should be at the weekend, (heres hopeing)

oh, and any advice on what to look for with the Fabia will also be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

They are the same size. The seat moves up as well as backwards/forwards as does the steering wheel so giving more room for legs and a different angle which gives an illusion of changing space. If you get the wheel and seat in the right position, then check if you're happy with the room for your left foot. It is a bit tight for some people. Different shoes can make a noticeable difference

You don't say what model you fancy, but I have a 1.4tDI and it's great.

Hope you get what you want.

Erm.. Doesn't the VRS have chrome-y pedals or metal pedal covers as opposed to "something else"? The pedal covers are available in the accessory catalogue anyways...

I assume all current models have the foot rest thing....

J.

All the Fabia models I've driven have had the foot rest to the left of the clutch pedal.... My feet are only size 9's so can't comment on if they're all the same size!

Cheers for the replies,

viewer -it wasn't the leg room but more the foot room I'm after. And while I just focused on just getting my feet around the controls my sense of pride would be damaged if it turns out I'd over looked something really simple (doh). Shoes aren't really negotiable as I was wearing my special "driving/cycling - trainers/desert shoes"....

As for the model I'm not really sure for sure I'll be testing the VRS but others will be considered even the SDI with 64 hp :'( -hence the "51.8702379836974/ton" really if the car could do 0-40km/h in about 2.2 odd seconds (75hp/ton) I'd be more-than-happy
