Not happy with your horn?

Featured Replies

Arent' those illegal?

Hmmm :rubchin:

Must say, one of the let downs on the Octy 1 is the weedy horn. It always seems a bit limp...

Whereas my Passat always sounds really aggressive, even if you're trying to give a gentle toot-toot hello/goodbye.

Nissan seem to use the same horn in a Micra as they do in a Navara. Its Embarrising sitting in a big truck, making a pathetic squeek when you hit the wheel. Thankfully a halfrauds £10 replacement fixed it!

Same goes for the Fabia horn - the steering wheel button's a bit stiff to press sometimes and when it finally does work, the horn's laughable.

I'm just thankful that the pd130 can whisk me away from where I beeped :D

I'm guessing horns can be swapped between a few of the VAG models?

Yep, I looked at a two-tone one from an A3 on eBay, but got outbid at the last minute. The Ibiza one is woeful - I thought the one of the vRS wasn't too bad?

Seem to go for £10-15. I would imagine it's pretty easier to just swap them over?

I know someone very well who has a new Astra SRI, worst horn in the world, belongs in a combo van or something :thumbdwn:

He's just forked out for the OEM twin tone vauxhall effort, miles better.

Octavia II horn= brilliant

This is a bit imature but funny. Think its not quite leagal over here, but can u imagine the look on the MOT testers face as he tests the horn?

Well there's this on there at the moment - is that the kind of thing I should be looking for if I decide to change mine?

Never had an isue with my horn on the vRS.

The vRS Octy has a two-tone horn

Ooh, does it pass as a decent horn?

If you've enough time to sound your horn - generally it's too late.

Depends what you're using it for :)

The horn in the Roadie is the gayest :gay: horn EVER!

Spooky...discovered mine didn't work last night, only trouble being it's in for it's MOT today...

Assuming it's the same horn as the Roadie: FQ101 : Smart Car Modifications

Think the horn itself is the same, but it's not as easy to get to as it's hidden behind the single plastic panel at the front (and there's an undertray to prevent easy access from underneath!).

Fortunately the MOT place phoned to say the horn was working fine, so it probably is just the dodgy connection...

Good find that site though, loads of useful info! :D
