Buying advice for a used vRS

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've been looking into purchasing a newish (05-06) second hand vRS. I was wondering if anyone had any buying advice or knows of a site that has any "look out for.." tips.

Cheers in advance :)

Have a search.

Well so far I know they have a stall issue and also my fathers normal TDI PD leaks on the front windows.

Is there anything else I need to check?

the stutter (stall?) issue is only on the '06 onwards models ;) the euroIV compliant engines..... look out for knocking suspention, the control arm bushes/drop links/ ARB bushes can go (heavy engine and all!)

With the age of car you're looking at, there's not much to worry about as it'll be covered by warranty. I'd recommend looking for a VRS with the Euro3 engine (rather than the Euro4 engine which is found in newer models and has the stutter problem).

My advice would be take a test drive, listen out for any knocking noises and check the operation of all functions (a/c etc). If you're happy then go for it.

Don't buy my old one
