Renting cars

Featured Replies

Just wondering about this, in case the Seat sells before I've decided on what to get next.

How much would a standard rental cost, say per day or on a week rate? Would just be something to get me around to look at cars really, as I'm willing to go anywhere in the UK to find the right one. So something like a Fiesta?

If someone works in the industry and can get deals, give me a shout - PM if necessary :)

Cheers,

Steve

Avis will charge you approx £150 for 1 weeks rental of a small car (clio size), just over £20 for a day.

For cheaper, look through your local paper for places that hire out older cars. Be carefull here though as you could rent a lemon.

Just buy an old motor.

Approx 1k will buy a half decent Fester or Clio, run it around until you find a car you want, then sell it.

My last shed cost me £600, plus £96 tax, I ran it for nearly 3 months and sold it for £500.

I reckon that was a good deal.

I went through 1car1.com and paying under £20 a day!

Our local Enterprise Rent-a-car place is doing special weekend rates of £11.99/day, so you might be able to get similar for a short term rental.

Cheers guys - some good options to look at there, thanks

Graham - I'm not buying a car to go round looking for other cars - that's just daft! ;)

A member of this very forum is coming to have a look at the car today, so you never know, I may need a rental sooner than I thought!

Enterprise give you a deal for over 30 days hire if you speak to them i believe.
