cutout/immobiliser and fog lights!

Featured Replies

Car : W reg, 1.4mpi 8v, comfort.

I went to start the car today after work but strangley enough it just cut out twice in a row, at first i thought it was something mechanical untill it started the third time and stayed started (never had a problem starting or anything before)

also my drivers side fog light has goen and i bought a replacement one thinking oh yea the manual will have how to change the fog light, but i cannot find the info. so guys how do i change the fog light?! lol

cheers for any replies :P

Fog light just unscrews from the front once the surround is pulled out.

How long from the starting to the cutting out?

just a few seconds really, it seemed normal, then it fell from its normal 800/1000 rpm to about 500 n the rev counter flickered a little n then died, did it twice in a row, since then its worked fine though :S i was told it may be interference with the immobiliser which just happenes sometimes :S just thought id ask here though instead :D

any ideas on the cut out guys?

My car is in for the same problem.

It seems that sometimes when i start the car it cuts out.

I get the yellow car with the key symbol on the dash instrument panel flashing when it cuts out. after a few attemps it finally starts.

This apparently is the immobiliser solenoid which needs replacing. the unit costs about £5+vat plus takes an hour for the garage to fit £55hr
