Which TDI?

Featured Replies

Other than power (more being better!) are there any differences between the TDI engines offered? I'm thinking noise, maintance costs etc.

Thanks,

Ian

The main differenceis the 1.4 is a 3 cylinder turbo (75 bhp).

Other than that the 3 other diesels are 1.9 4 cylinder units available in SDI non turbo (60ish bhp) and turboed 100 and 130 bhp

Believe the 1.4 is lighter as it's not made from cast iron, whcih means that the car is less nose-heavy. Very economical too and with a tuning box/remap should hit over 100bhp.... maintenance schedule is the same for all of them I believe.

Is it possible to remap a 1.4TDi to more than a std vRS as this would truely be a Q car with super economy.

Possible but financially silly. Also the economy benefits wouldn't be there at such a state of tune. Just get a pd100 and mongrel it

A remapped 1.4 TDI is supposed to give a standard vRS a run for its money anyway. From what I've read on here....
