hmph, a distinctly Skoda free list that

Surely the Octavia vRS would be in the top 100 and the Fabia vRS in the top 20?

the same time as a Focus RS and only 0.4 secs behind an RX8 , its pretty quick then

I'm sure I remember them testing an Octy 2 round the track. Or was that 5th Gear in reverse? (the bloody buffoons). They definitely had a Fabia vRS round the track against a Mini Cooper, which lost by a mile.

the Top Gear track times are all set by the Stig , and he hasn't AFAIK driven either VRS on the track

It's interesting how close some of the cars in the middle of the table are with very little difference between what are quite "ordinary" cars and much more exotic machinery.

It sounds like the Alfa 147 was a special one-off? "GTA 3.7" ?? Google says :"Offering the Alfa 147 GTA with a supercharged 3.7-litre engine"

Impressive to see the Cupra R, Mazda and the R32 right up there. :)

DOes the list differentiate between dry & wet laps? If not, that could explain the closeness of some "ordinary" cars to some of the more exclusive ones.

On the chart on the show they mark wet laps but this seems to be missing from the list here

It was the Autodelta GTA conversion, yeah. Quite special by all accounts!

75. 1:32.8 – Facelifted Honda Civic Type-R

76. 1:32.9 – SEAT León Cupra R

And that is why I'm changing my LCR for a Civic Type R. It's so much faster around a track. :o

Are you actually changing - or was that tongue in cheek??

Steve

Steve

Leon is now gone! ;)

And the car that everyone loves to say doesn't handle and is impossible to control is in at 79, just ahead of a Noble

but that is maybe out of shear poweR? maybe if it did handle better it would be even faster
