Does this sound expensive or necessary?

Featured Replies

just had a service on my W reg fabia (1.4 8v) its got 83k on the clock. the standard service was

All very common.

Question to ask yourself is

1. Has you PAS light been on or steering felt stiff? Do you have the old type sensor?

2. Are there fault codes logged with the sensor? Does it idle roughly?

3. Does you front suspension knock over bumps? Do you have the modified links fitted?

Remember on a service it is a requirement to read off the fault codes. If any of these systems had fauts stored in them then yes I would do the same and recomend you replace the parts.

At least it shows they are actually chcking stuff on the service.

Yea the pas light has come on a couple of time, and it has felt stiff on the odd occasion when the wheel has been turned swiftly, and yes it does knock :P

They did get a pring out for me, and yes the car does idle roughly, the light dim and its a bit jerky when stood, because of the lumpy tickover it feels like its going to stall :P

I suppose in the long run it is worth gettin done for piece of mind as well as road saftey ^^
