Pollen Filter?

Featured Replies

Guy's wonder if you could shed some light on this one.

I have just got myself a nice new Pollen filter the posh one with activated charcol.

how do I fit it? where does it go? HELP:eek:

hi there -

as you sit in the passenger seat its down underneath on the right next to the air vent - the best way i found is to crouch down from the outside and using a torch , pull back the retaining catches - they will slide along - then pull down on the outside cover and it should come out - replace the filter push back in and lock in the catches - i did find it a bit fiddley owing to the location -

hope it helps

Will do!

This might quieten the fan down sounds like Concorde on 3 and 4 lots of stuff in there.

Would the pollen filter be changed at a service or is it something i should do and how often do they need changing.

There might be carp in the actual fan. The cover for this is held on by about 8 torx screws. Remove glovebox and undo them all. I had to do this when I got a leaf stuck in the system and it was making the "playing card in a bicycle spokes" noise. :)

The pollen filter should be replaced at the inspection service and according to the service schedule its changed every 30,000 km. I would tend to change it more earlier (If you want to do it yourself and as said above it is a bit of a fiddly job) if you have to drive through a city environment or where you encounter a lot of traffic fumes, mine wasn't too bad having changed it just before christmas, with only a sprinkling of dust came out at the bottom and no leaves (Nothing like the pic Jason took of his !)

Does the activated charcoal one stop cigarette fume from coming in (from other cars in front)? What type of filter is fitted as standard? Thanks
