Which Octy?

Featured Replies

I am looking into an Octavia, need it to be cheap (Around the 3k mark)

Got to be a diesel!

But which 110 or 130bhp? will be looking at re-mapping so which is best in that respect? and what is possible?

Sorry for all the questions from a newbie (Although a returning one)

Cheers All

The 130bhp engine is same as the Fabia vRS so once remapped it should be pushing out anything between 165bhp and 180bhp. Not too sure about the remap figures for the 110bhp engine, but they will either be the same as the 130bhp engine or a little less.....

130bhp models also came with the 6 speed gearbox....not sure if you'll get a good one (low mileage) with a budget of 3k as I think this model only came out on a '04' plate.

I've got a high miler 130 (53 plate) - I doubt you'd get one for 3k unless it's got intergalactic mileage and a few other faults (perhaps at auction?).

Loads of 110s to choose from though and they seem to get good returns from a remap too.

£3k... no chance of a PD130, or a 110 of a reasonable age/mileage.

For £3k if you want a reliable car in good condition you are looking at something pre facelift, and most likely an SDI or TDI 90 hatchback

I agree that 3k is quite tight budget for good diesel octy.

I recently bought an octy 1.8t elegance 2001/y-reg. 59k miles , fsh, in excellent condition for 3300.

It was a real bargain compared to other octys on autotrader, ebay motors, loot...

I was looking for it around 2 months and i havent seen even one good diesel powered octy for that kind of price.:(
