1.2 HTP 03 Fabia - Having to wait to get into garage, the engine runs ok when engine management light on. Sutters and tempermental power/acceleration.....So pushed all visible connectors.

Light went out & drove fine for 7 miles, then stuttering again ( as if air/fuel etc.wrong). After being stopped for a couple of hours worked ok, 2mins down road when temp gauge up to normal stuttering again and engine management light on, suttering stopped, but reduced performance. Two miles later and I'm at home, dreading getting in her tomorrow!

Have noticed temp gauge seems to be slower than normal to reach centre position.

How many sensors are there that could stick? Did I manage to push the right cables without realising and they've come undone again? If so where's the best place to start looking? Had loom 6 months ago.

Why did you replace the loom? Do you have the facility to check the fault codes?

Wiring loom had rotted out. Seems to be an 02 - 03 Fabia thing. Dealership says water sits on wires, back of battery & rots them out.... Hum least was just in warranty then.

Codes - well convinced dealership to'fit me in' for a read... let you know. Not that I have much faith in the accuracy of computers! Bring back things I can use a spanner and screwdriver on. And that from a woman....

OK so update - on way to garage, stuck in slow moving traffic and revs bounced all over the place. Engine light flashing. Got better once turned off and on and got moving again.

Took garage an hour to fit looking at codes in... then **** light wasn't on so they couldn't do anything! Bah really not happy... car just started juddering again, 10 miles later... Am supposed to be doing reading to birmingham on Friday.. am I safe driving it??
