bad MPG

Featured Replies

hi guys, i bought a 2001 2.0 octavia two weeks ago, i'm a little worried about mpg, and sometimes it makes erratic idle, other times when start the car it start normal, but then, stall.

so i decided to clean the MAF using the instructions that have been discused a lot in this forum...

well, when i take out the MAF, i found that it it's super clean, the butterfly valve it's super clean too, but i found remains of oil inside the inlet pipe, in the par where a hose enters the inlet pipe from the engine.

i found that these hose (the one that goes from the engine to the inlet pipe) is a bit broken in the section that is conected to the engine....

can this broken hose make my mpg go to almost 12.5 mpg city and 25 mpg high way

ok, can somebody help?

An easy way to answer your own question would be to replace or repair the broken pipe.
