vibrations when braking

Featured Replies

i hope someone can help me with this problem, when i brake easily i get a vibration everywhere, u can feel it even from the back seats, if i brake harder it doesn't seem to vibrate so much, what can it be and what can i do to get rid of that vibrations  , and another thing when i turn left and sometimes when i go in a straight line i hear a squeal from the brakes:confused: , if i push the brake pedal it disappears. please help me, my fabia is a 1.4 16v 101 bhp with rear brake discs. 10x:)

Could be the breaks have been binding, causing the discs to heat and Warp inducing a shudder.

New disc's is the cure plus getting the calipers looked at why their not sliding and binding.

But first get your wheels checked out for balancing all 4 this also could cause this problem. cheaper than a new set of discs.

my vrs did this, if its worse when coasting in neutrual (not supposed to i know)

and when only lightley applying the brakes its the discs that have warped.

Also you will need to find out why they have warped

1) as said above have the calipers been binding

2) do you drive the car hard causing the brakes to overheat, also spraying cold water onto heated discs could also cause them to warp.

my advise is change the front discs, clean the caliper guide pins or get new ones.

Read this StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades

Then take the car out & do a few hard stops from high speed to clear the crud, it might well be enough

OBVIOUSLY make sure its a clear straight road & CHECK the mirror before you nail the brakes

If someone still smacks into the back of you, "a dog ran out infront of me, but i didn't see where it went after i stopped" ;)

(a copper told me that!!! Apparently you're not supposed to slam on for anything smaller than a collie/labrador sized dog!!)

I had the same problem when accelerating with vibrations. Heres how to fix it:

Remove vibrator from under the pedal
