Hi, i recently bought an 05 2.0FSI elegance Octavia and i am having a problem with the in dash cd player. The player happily accepts discs but when i eject them a cd error message shows and i have try several times before it finally gives back the disc. Anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it? I have also noticed a rattle when i rev the engine and release the clutch to pull away, i think it is the exhaust rattling but cannot be sure. I hope it is nothing more serious, as anyone had this noise? Thanks.

I have an 04 Fabia vRS and occasionally i suffer a similar problem; i have found that after pressing eject, and my cd not being ejected from the stereo, if i allow the cd to be reloaded and skip through a few tracks, and then press eject once more, the cd is ejected as normally...

It is a common fault with many slot-loading mechanisms; unfortunately the only cure is a non-oem stereo (as they seem to have more reliable ejection mechanisms)

As i say this only happens occasionally to me, and if this is a continuous fault then i might suggest you get your dealer to replace the unit for you...

on the subject of the rattle; it sounds like a loose clutch cable; probably just rattling against something... i wouldn't think it was too serious and is relatively easy to fix (depending on how technically minded you are) if not, pop it into your dealers....
