Hello newbie from across the water

Featured Replies

Hi to all,

Newbie here from ireland. I was gonna post about slight hesistation on my new fabia vrs between 1500 and 2000 rpm, but I have looked at stu's website and found out it's to do with the eu4 emission bull crap, so there goes my first post (nice one stu!).

Cheers,

Ray.

hi. and welcome. check out irish meets sect. 1 on 15 april. :D

Welcome to Briskoda

Hi Ray ! (Chinese version of Highway) ;)

welcome to the best Skoda site in the known Universe.

Howya, good to see you found the Irish meets sections.

Hello & welcome

Welcome.

Why does "hesitation caused by emissions carp" make me think "remap"?

It's not from a re-map, they made a change to the engine exhaust gas recirc valve (i think) and it was something to do with the size of a washer or hole in there to get the Euro IV emissions target, there is a fix out there, but not sure how good? I have a 54 vRS so it doesn't have this problem.

Othger people may be able to tell you the outcome of the fix?

No mate, "hesitation caused by emissions carp" makes me think "do a remap".

Oh, do a remap... sorry, see what you mean!!

I wouldn't know if this would cure the problem on the modified engine, hopefully someone who has done it can tell us, i'm imterested to know now as I have the earlier type.

I think it should; a hesitation usually indicates a flat spot in the torque curve, and a competent remapper should fill in a flat spot, rather than just add fuelling everywhere on high throttle.

i agree m8. get a remap. ;) preferably b 4 the meet. :D:thumbup:

Welcome aboard the good ship Briskoda! :orb_wave:
