Can anyone tell me if there is a way of telling what date your car was manufactured. Two weeks ago I bought a 2.0 fsi vrs on a 56 plate but have noticed on some components such as the boot mat and various other parts that the newest date of manufacture on these components is 22.01.06.

Surely a car that was first registered in September 06 wouldn't have been lying around for some 9 months before being sold new.

By the way, great car, this is my second Octavia II the first being a 2.0 TDI Ambiente that was not so great.

VRStu, if possible I too would like the date of Production of my Octy 2.0 Tdi which was registered in Oct 05.

After checking this forum b4 buying (picked the car up last Thurs 19/04/07) from main dealer I was concerned re the flywheel recall. Dealer said mine was ok, which means I need to check.

Checked the VOSA website as advised by forum, it effected the 2.0Tdi up to production build date 30/06/05, slight chance mine was after that.

I know of one that was first registered in April 2007 that has been lying around since February 2005.

I wish that I had known this before I bought it.
