Featured Replies

Hi - i'm relatively new here and just changed my Fabia SDi for a 04 plate vRS - I can see what the vRS owners have been going on about now! :D Its an amazing car, well worth the money! I took some pics at the weekend - hope they post okay...

I have a couple of questions:

1. I want to fit the Ipod interface cable to my head unit (Symphony single CD unit) - is it an easy job? where can I get one cheaper - VAG Parts sell the VW one for

£75 for the Icelink is good! You get to play your iPod music directly through the head unit so it's worth it in my opinion. :)

Only other places would be ebay or on here for secondhand items.

2. I read something about a Mk2 vRS - whats the difference between a Mk1 vRS and a Mk2 vRS?

One exists and one is just a rumour (Or actually several rumours, as you will see when you read round the forum).

Congrats on the purchase, you will not regret it.

BTW

The standard head is generally cack. For about £150 you can fit an half decent MP3 head which will play cds and SD cards, which IMHO is a much better option than using the Symphony

WOW!

How the hell did that happen???????

Did you read this in a Fabia thread, or an Octavia one ?

Fabia - Mk2 vRS is the fabled beast that some say doesn't and won't exist, whereas others believe all the different things the popular press are telling them. It's based on the "NEW" fabia which has only just come out

Octavia Mk2 vRS is the current Octavia model.

just buy an itrip for about 30 squidlys...tis what i use and have had no probs with it all!:)

k

Yeh i bought an i trip From Ebay for less than a tenner inc P & P

Works great

Look in the ICE Forum, I have posted a link to a site that has a Connetion from the CD port on the back of the symphony H/U to a 3.5mm Jack plug. It costs around £30.

Skoda Ipod & MP3 Car Stereo Adapters & connectors

Check this out .

about mark i and mark II people are assuming you mean the new model... if you mean the update of the current model, at sometime ('05 I think) there was a facelift, changes were, differnt texture to top of the dash, different gearbox ratio's (4th, 5th, and 6th I believe) no interior doorlock buttons in the back doors, lanechanger indicators (although they all may have these, can't remember) and different rear light design....

:)

With regards the IceLink, just get the VW at the price quoted - good deal and the connectors are the same :)

Nice photos BTW - like the light

Steve

Nice photos - looks like something out of a brochure. The car looks in mint condition.

As for my Ipod cable... I decided to go for an 'itrip' in the end off ebay (cheers Matt!)
