dash trim and part number

Featured Replies

i've just recently fitted an MFD2 to my 2007 VRS TDI, all went well with the install and things are looking very well. i ordered the replacement dash trim from Skoda only to find that when i went to pick it up it was the same trim part as i had already.

The number i gave them was 1Z0 858 069 L 2AU - Trim for climatronic switch for vehicles with navigation system bright aluminium -

It sounds like the part was labeled/boxed wrong. Did they re order it?

they wouldn't re order the part as i was then liable for charge if it turned out to be the wrong part, i wasn't too happy and asked them to look into it further.

i even showed him the web site:octavia-vrs and the relvant part numbers but he thought it was down to it possibly being a 2007 model..

As helpful as ever i know. hence the reason why i'm asking the people in the know......

Did they look on the part to verify that the number on the part matches the part ordered, I would have thought thats the first thing to do.

If thier system shows it as that part number for a climatronic car with MFD sat nav then its got to be numbered up wrong. At £15 cost retail (will cost them about £10 max) its hardly a bit loss to them and they can send it back if its incorrectly supplied.

It's got feck all to do with it being a 2007 model either.

I myself checked the numbers to rule out the obvious mistake, i too think it could be labeled incorrectly but i wasn't getting anywhere fast with dealer. this is why is am asking people who know...

Here is the description for the part you tried to order.

contacted Skoda again and asked them to order the part again as i think the part was mislabeled. they have agreed with me and re-ordered the part. hopefully they'll get the correct on this time around.

Hello, have just "won" mfd2 dvd for upgrade can anyone (VRStu if available) clarify the difference between:

1Z0 858 069 L 2AU - Trim for climatronic switch for vehicles with navigation system bright aluminium - £15.65

1Z0 858 069 Q 2AU - Trim for climatronic switch for vehicles with navigation system bright aluminium

Also want Ipod intergration - what is best with MFD2 Dension Ice-link (I have one liberated from my old 3-series) or the VW/Skoda part?

To be honest I don't know what the changes were. If I remember correctly mine is the L variant.

The Ipod interface via the Denison is reputed to be pretty good but as I am sure you will know you would lose CD changer functionality. Also depending on the interface you had on the BM, it might not be right for the Octy. You need the Quadlock suitable interface for your Octy.

It would seem that you aren't very far away from me so drop me a line if you have problems.

Thanks Stu,

I appreciate your input and your great resources.

Would you forego the control element and just use the Aux intput on the MFD2 as the VRS doesn't have the MF wheel?

Thanks for your kind offer of assistance. hopefully won't be necessary having read your guides prior to making the investment, looks like you covered everything but will bear in mind if i'm struggling

best regards

Bushman

Your current device, the IceLink wouldn't connect to the Aux input on the MFD2. You'd need a media connector such as the Deitz.

I was offering help more from the coding point of view, didn't know if you had VAG-COM or not.

Thanks again, I don't have VAG-com but I know a man who has.
