New & Seeking Help

Featured Replies

Hi - fabulous site with lots of experts it seems. Can anyone help. Back nearside door will not open; lock mechanism seems to operate but handles do not. Obvious answer is to remove door trim, but seemingly impossible with door shut! Any ideas??

Hi there fella, welcome to the forum

It might be helpful if we know what car this is!!! ;)

Oxyacetalene torch should do it!!

sorry! a T reg octavia glx tdi

im guessing it an Octavia as thats what it says in the info part

The info part wasn't there 10 minutes ago ;)

If the lock pin is going up and down and neither the inside or outside handles work, then I'm guessing the lock is bust as to my knowledge the lock/handle connecting rods are independant for the outside and inside handles. Getting it open could be a professional break in job I'm guessing, with hooks and levers and the like slid in through the window seal... I don't think this is going to be something DIYable I'm afraid :(

I think so too - but rather hope someone may have other ideas (apart from the oxy-torch!). If nothing in a day or 2 i'll take it in to be fixed
