No Rice update

Featured Replies

As we may be aware, the No Rice meet at Fleet was a victim of its own success:O . Temporary stand by plans have been made for a location, whilst a permenant location with appropriate permissions is organised.

:orb_frozePlease see the update from the No Rice forum staff.

Hi all,

As you will be aware we're in negotiations for a permanent meet, it's coming along well but won't be in time for next week. As I'd hate to deprive you of a meet for one month (and want to discourage people from continuing at Fleet) we're holding a temporary meet.

April 11th at Savacentre in Calcot, Reading. I want us to park by Next which is in the far right of the car park, no earlier than 7.30 please. I'll update this with a little Google map later so you can see what I mean. There's a chance they might want to lock the gate, in which case we'll have to come out into the main car park. I would've checked last night but was busy checking out other car parks(!).

It's simple to get to, literally just off the M4 at Junction 12.

BATH ROAD, CALCOT, READING, BERKSHIRE RG31 7SA

We have to be on our best behaviour, absolutely no racing around, no stereos, no litter. I think it'll be a small meet this month, but until we can get the venue, this is what we'll have.

Thanks for the update. I may well be up for this: it's about 2 miles from my house :D

I may well try and pop along if I can get out!!.

Not too far away from me either :P - although being in SA may stop me :(

South Aylesbury's not too far away! ;)

Oy :P

I thought the local expression was "gimme a break, mate" :P

Chris Ellis and myself will be popping along.

Makefish is a doubtful at the moment.:thumbdwn:

Unfortunately tis so, SWMBO hit the roof when I told her I wanted to go out (for the third time this week!!), got to spend some 'quality' time with her

How diid you boys get on and any piccy's?.

There were quite a few Vee Dubs there plus others.

Chris and myself were the only Skodas that we saw.

The majority of people were well behaved and quiet but unfortunately the car park (perfect place) attracted a wholy undesirable element of Paxo driver that proceeded to cane their cars round the car park.:thumbdwn:

Unfortunately I fear that the No-Rice will get moved on until they find an acceptable venue but it's a shame as once agan the minority spoil it for the rest. :thumbdwn: :thumbdwn:
