bumper score

Featured Replies

need your views peeps, someone has put a six inch score (deep, right down to the plastic) on the rear bumper of my octy, would you:

a. get it sanded and resprayed (and maybe run the risk of a mis-match, colour silver)?

b. leave it well alone (but run the risk of flaking)?

i know a decent bodywork guy and am weary of going to a main dealer and shelling out, maybe, several hundred but neither do i want part of my bumper being slightly off shade, what with silver being hard to match, and the car being only eight months old.

thoughts please?

I think I would want it resprayed.

For me it would annoy me every time I washed the car. After 8 Months the colour match shouldn't be that bad.

cheers for that, it's kinda doin' my head in already and i've only just spotted it! i suppose with regular polishing, over summer, the match may be fine. just a pity some so-and-so swipped it:mad:

Get Chips Away or similar to do a local repair on it, jobs a good un.

went to local 'chips-away' before, with a different car, (but same type, depth, of score) and chap said he could do nothing. might try him with this one though
