Whens the best time for a remap.

Featured Replies

As you might know i've been driving around in my fabia vrs for a week now. What can i say. It bloody class. Right as for my question. When's the best time for a remap of the ecu, ie miles. Is it best to leave it for about 4-5K miles or can i have it done sooner. Like say 1.5K miles :D . I was hoping in fitting a exhaust first but don't know if i can wait that long to save up. If i was to get a remap before the exhaust could i take it back to say jabba or amd for another remap to get the most of the exhaust.

Well mine will be done at the beginning of April at just under 4000 miles :) Its worth waiting until the engine has bedded in a little and I would wait def until after the running in period.

Im sure when I spoke to Mike at Jabbasport, he said that their remaps are adaptive and will take into account exhaust mods etc. They will also adapt to the engine as it loosens up over the years etc... Best thing to do is give him a ring and ask

Most tuners prefer engines to have a few mile on them so that they're fully run in.

I know that one of our members had his Furby remapped by Jabba with mor or less delivery mileage on and it produce around 185bhp. This is generally the figure that most people are getting.

You can have a remap and then fit an exhaust. Another remap to take exhaust into account would cost you though...not sure on the price......economically it's much better to have all your engine related mods done first then have a remap.

Nice in theory better harder to do.

Incidently I still have some place left for our current group buy......PM me if you're interested.

Cheers.

Adrian.
