Aerial Removal.

Featured Replies

Hi. Got a beesting one to put in its place but I can't get the old one out. You can unscrew it but then it just stops and seems to catch on something. Is there a special way? Thanks

Special way = pull really hard! :)

If it's anything like the Fabia/Ibiza one, it's supposedly anti-theft. But it will come out with enough force.

Steve

pull really hard!

Steve`s right but with a little care if that makes any sense, had one like this on a citroen that

snapped half the thread off cos it wouldnt budge it caused more problems than enough as the

car was being sold the same day

So as a complete contradiction be tough but with care and it should come out

Yeah, it is a bit difficult to explain! I didn't really understand what people were saying either, until I tried removing it myself.

Steve

The usual is you start pulling really hard, all the time thinking "what if those Brisk guys are wrong". You feel you're gonna yank the base out itself then it lets go, no damage has been done, and then you let out a few expletives in the language of your choice.....

Yep, that's pretty accurate :D

Steve

Yep I agree.

Have a look on the Superb forum and you will see a link to Carolyn's car with the same problem. You do need to yank it quite hard. However the problem we now have is that the adapter on the aerial isn't long enougth so we now need to get a longer adapter.

Cheers
