Reluctance in some gears

Have not done a vag com check, but I've noticed that rather than my car going into "limp mode" 100%, it decides to cut power in fifth/sixth (the usual gear when it happens) but if I shift down to get the revs back to 2500 or so I get full boost, and then boost works in 5th and 6th too.... :confused: This reminds me of MAF symptoms, but not sure. I reckon when I do a scan, the only fault will be the boost pressure negative deviation one.
