Hi, just have to tell you a litle store about my Skoda Tdi and the broblem i have been trough.

I bought Skoda Octavia 1.9 Tdi 2002 model two years ago, and few days after i bought the car i noticed that, the turbine whas cutting of every now and then, not so often but it whas anoing. I took it to the dealer after six month and they admid that it was somthing wrong with the sensors. so some of them was replaced.

The car then was ok for a few days then it whent back to cutting of the turbine, and whene that happens it is almost like driving a tractor so back it whent to the dealer and they replaced some more sensor and stuff, but nothing worked. And about a year ago this was getting even worse, the car was cuting the turbine off every day. And last week the turbine newer even turned on.

But yesterday i had to take it to service the motor oil and stuff due to milages, so i did.

So sitting in the waiting room reading some boring old magasine, the guy that was servicing the car came and asked me if the disel filter have been changed lately, i told him that i had no idea when that was done last time, so he told me he will do it now, so i sayd sure just do it.

And o my god, it was like having a v8 318 dodge engine under the hood and the turbine have not cut off since then, maby it is to early to say but i will keep posting and tell you if the turbine is working broberly, by the way the car was scheduled for complite change of the turbine 15.mai, what do you thing i will do, tell them that it was the disel filter that was the broblem after all, or do i just lett them to change it?

The VNT turbo's gunk up anyway and he may have just disturbed something such that it works for a short while.

If they are offering to pay for a new turbo, let them change it IMHO.

I think i will let them change it, they are paying for it anyway. Like you say it maby just working for now, and maby later it will brake down.

I almost whent back to the station that was servesing the car, to let them but the old fuel filter in, just to see if it whent back to cutting the turbine off.

By the way they also changed the air filter. Anyway after this change of filter the car i more powerfull, just a different car to drive.

Well whent for a test drive to day, and what is the best way to test the turbine? well drive up a mountain!

And the car did a great job, but the turbine did shut off one time, so i guess that the fuel filter was nott the reason for the turbine cutting off.

But the old fuel filter hade to been full of dirt, the car have so much more power than it used to be. I am looking forward to 15.mai and to do the same test route with a brand new turbine
