new fabia needs bigger wheels

New fabia with alloys wheels look tiny, need to put 18'' on it seriously

Fabia 3 has 16 inch wheels, thats the same as the vRS.

I think the new vRS will probably get 18's but that may look to much? we shall see!!

My guess would be 17in as standard for the new RS and 18in as options?

Back to the original question though, and because the styling of the rest of the car is quite 'big', I agree that you really need 16in minimum!

reckon from the brochure i got today they'll have the roomster scout alloys on the fabia rs.

Was speaking to a salesman today who said he was going to order a fabia sport with white roof in non met red and 16'' reckons it will draw attention

The Roomster scout alloys are only 16" and you can buy them as an option/accessory anyway!

Will the new Fab be a 5x112 fitment, as new VAGs seem to be? Or are they sticking with 5x100? Anyone know?

Steve

They're sticking with the 5x100 fitment, the same as the Roomster. Tis a shame as all the new VAG wheels won't fit, so there's going to be a limited range of new large wheels that are going to fit (that's if you want to keep the car looking OEM-style).

I take it that means transplants from the Octavia II are a no-no then?

Correct - Octy II is 5x112.

Perhaps if the Fabia II is staying with 5x100, the next gen Polo and Ibiza are doing the same, so that should keep the availability of 5x100 going, I would have thought.

Yeps :( I think the new Fabia would look ace slammed with Octy vRS mk2 wheels. Shame they won't fit :thumbdwn:

i think the high sided fabia mark 2 makes the standard 15 or 16" wheels look smaller than they are. i think 17" would look great but have to go for at least 205 45 17 tyres which are an inch bigger in diameter than 2#standard 205 45 16, would that affect effort required by engine much?

Yes 18's are just the right size  :

what tyre size are you using? i would have thought the ride would be less comfortable and the engine would need to work harder.

i can't see any space between the tyre and the wheel arch, do they rub when going over humps or full lock or carrying passengers?
