i-Pod connector and Parrot

Featured Replies

Hi Chaps,

just had a great deal of fun with my stealer ordering the wrong I-pod kit (supplied by Progressive Consumer electronics) as they supplied the older iso plug only and not the newer 12 pin quadlock. So I'm ordering the cable direct from PCE now.

One thing I noticed when looking through the parrot installation guide is the amount of spaghettii coming on the Parrot kit. Has anyone successfully installed both kits at once on a Stream? I didn't want to buy the parrot and find that I can't plug in the I-pod kit at the same time.

BTW, the part number from Skoda on the I-pod kit is C-ZGB00005183, this appears to be the 8 pin mini ISO connector, and C-ZGB00005182 is the quad-lock one. Hope this saves anyone else the aggro I've just had.

Cheers,

Martin

You'll need to run another power supply from the fuse panel on the Octy, pretty well discussed here recently so it'll crop up in the search.

I put a similar kit in SWMBO's A3 last week and it required a couple of the wires to be changed around and one removed. So I would advise consulting the pinout diagram of your Stream and make sure they are right.

You probably realise from the search that you'll need to buy some wires from Skoda.

Thanks Stu, Will need to wait for the right cable to come in from PCE (Dealer didn't know anything about these, and kept saying it won't work. so I doubt I'll buy any other extras from them again).

I'll also be in touch about the cruise control as soon as I get paid.

They shouldn't be ordering the connectors from elsewhere it is a genuine Skoda part - Octavia-vRS.com - Ipod Adaptor

I see no reason why both won't work, it just needs the wiring sorted out.

If you are coming this way then maybe I can take a look at the kit for you at the same time.
