Fuel and air filter doesnt get changed until 60k.

In my service book, it says fuel filter should be drained and air filter changed at 40k I think. Will go and check.

What engine do you have?

1.9Tdi 105. Yeah, it's only a fuel filter drain at 40k, the change is at 60k as you said. And the air filter is 60k too. Thanks :) . Tidy saving there. Does much water tend to come out of the fuel filter?

One other thing I'm not clear on. Should the brake fluid be topped up or should it be replaced? The car is at 39k miles and nearly 2 years old.

Thanks!

Should ideally be replaced at 2 years.

IIRC there isnt a water drain on the new bath type filters.

So just leave fuel and air another 20k then? Nothing to be gained but a dent in the wallet by doing them early?

Well to be honest if it was mine i'd do them. It does make a difference. I think its just VAG's way of appealing to lease compaines by putting most of the service parts out of the regular servicing lifespan.

I change air filters every 10-20k and fuel filters every 20 to 40k miles.

As Ross says it makes one hell of a difference.

Special isn't it. Pricey, full of scummers and the roads are buggered. Hence my number plate surrounds 14036d1174932990-image009.jpg

Lol you're not the only one who would rather be there.
