Fabia Aerial

Featured Replies

Do all Fabias have the anti theft aerial or is it just the later ones?

My 2002 hatch has a normal removable aerial and poor radio reception, but SWMBOs 2004 estate has an anti theft type and good reception.

Has someone fitted the wrong aerial to mine or is the amplifier just not working any more?

Get your amplifier checked out. I think it should be the same on all models

As far as I know they all should be tamperproof.

But the aerial amp is in the headunit and not the aerial base.

Cheers Lummox, but I thought that the amplifier was in the aerial base and that for some reason, best known to themselves, VW or Sony powered the amp using the aerial connection on the head unit and fed power back up the aerial lead.

This used to be the reason for poor reception when VW owners replaced the standard head unit but did not know that an adapter was required to power the amp.

Are the Skoda aerials different to the VW ones?

so how do you get the aerial off if you need to replace it?

like lummox said the amp is in the headunit, so when u remove the standard one u loose the amplifier and have to replace with an autoleads adaptor or equivelent.

i think they are all anti thieft from the factory.
