Fabia - Operation of electric front windows

Featured Replies

Is it me having a funny turn ?

It seems that the switches in the driver's arm rest operating the electric front windows have spontaneously reversed their linkage. i.e. I now find that, facing foward, the switch on the LHS of the armrest operates the driver's window and the one on the RHS operates the passenger window - and no, my beard has not grown longer overnight or my hair partin changed position !

Does any body know what the standard operation is ?

I seem to recall that it was different until today. Logically, it seems that the reverse position should be the case.

The switches should match the relative positions of the driver and passenger.

I'm sure this has happened to other people, and there is some method of resetting it.

Dont worry bud, mine has done this once but reset itself when I restarted the car.

I did a quick search on this forum and it seems to have happened to others.

I really wouldn't worry.

This problem apparently occurs due to the complex arrangement of the electrical system. I have noticed this anomaly myself in the past.

According to my Skoda retailer, the electrical system can be reset using the following method:-

1. Get out of the car and lock it using your keyfob.

2. Put your key into the driver's door lock and turn it to unlock the door, but hold it in the turned position. The windows will open. Let them open completely before releasing the key.

3. Now turn the key to relock the car, once again holding it until the windows have closed completely.

The system should now have reset, and the problem be rectified.

Hope this helps!
