No need for "keys" just use a flat square ended peice of metal...

IE: The lid off an old HD can easily be cut down and filed to fit! Or a quick visit to a local engineering co for an off cut.

take 2 junior hacksaw blades (the slim black variety with a pin in either end) knock the pin out of one end and insert blade into slot for HU key.

Or just go down to your local dealer, get a pair of the correct keys FOC and have all the benefits thereof (keys locking in place, easy to use, no danger of damaging anything etc)...

well Dad had a few hacksaw blades knocking about so i took the bluntest ones and did the job problem free... i agree though if you can get the correct tool for a job free of charge then thats the best option.

I tried that with bits of aluminium cut to exactly the right size and really would recommend having the keys! When you see what's holding the player in place you'll understand why. I suppose it could be that aluminium isn't a good material to use because it's too flexible.

Thanks for the responses. I'm gonna call in at my dealers tomorrow lunchtime, if he won't give me a free set, I'll ask them to release it while I'm there. No need to rush to do it tonight at my facia trim is spending a night at the parcel depot! So I've that to collect as well.
