without the right tools it will be a difficult and possibly a dangerous job , so best left to a garage unless you are a reasonably competant mechanic

Fabia-vrs.com - Home Page is your friend. As stated special tools required though

Theirs a guide on here somewhere.

Takes me twice as long to do than a garage  I think its like everything else in life. One side I may do quick but then the other side can be a complete bitch

The tool is well worth investing if you decide to carry it out yourself.

A hub splitting tool is a must, as is a good set of spring compressors and a m14 spline drive socket. and various other spanners and sockets.

If you are in any way unsure, dont attempt it without a backup plan ie a good mechanic to rectifie your mistakes

yea from the sounds of things i wont be attempting it ever :P cheers for the info guys ^^

you dont need a hub splitting tool, but it is advisable to use the proper one for the job.. when i fittted my suspension i just whacked a cold chisel in there to open it up.. so long as you are carefull it wont do any damage to the hub

Yer but you know what your doing tom , someone with little experiance could easily hit the chisel too hard and crack the hub.

if it was going to crack, a hub spilitter would probably crack it too
