Tyre min. Load rating

Featured Replies

Can anyone advise as to what the minimum load rating for the tyres should be for a 2.0 TDI Sport DSG?

The original tyres are 225/45ZR17 91W

Someone has stuck on a pair of 225/45R17 90W and I'm a bit worried this might affect the insurance if it doesn't meet the minimum recommended. However, the dealer has been hopeless at providing information, saying the 90W is only about speed and doesn't matter, which doesn't seem quite right to me ;)

Have a look in your manual as the information might be there.

Are the new and old tyres the same brand?

I have certainly never run below 91 on the last octavia, so with the newer one being heavier I wouldn't be too sure.

Thanks, the tyres are same brand. Have looked cover to cover in the Manual and associated materials and can find this detail nowhere sadly.

I wouldnt go lower than 91, thats what Skoda recomend.
