Where does the air come from when using climate control?

No air ever seems to come from the top vents. Sure my Mk 1 elegance did. :confused:

set it to cold as anything and the air should be coming out of the top vents.

IIRC heat from the foot wells, cool from the top.

I don't mean to be patronising/offensive here but a full read of the climate control section in the manual will reveal all. There is a diffused air mode where air comes out of the windscreen outlet at a different angle towards the front passengers, I didn't know that until I read the book
