Re-mapped. but now clutch and flywheel problems

Featured Replies

I remapped my pd100 to 145bhp. i have driven for about 15k. now im getting a really loud noise from engine. my mechanic said its the flywheel. he also said it would be better to change clutch at the same time. my mileage is 69k now. I really enjoy the drive of the re-map. but my dillema is what to do now. SHOULD I REPLACE WITH STANDARD FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH OR REPLACE WITH UPRATED/sports ones.

also i was thinking of changing to the vrs flywheel and clutch but will they fit and is it a good idea???

any advise welcome. thanks.:)

I would of thought you'd find a flywheel and clutch close to the price of OEM parts. I would certainly go for the uprated versions.

Does the vRS use the same flywheel and clutch as the PD100? I guess money will dictate what you do, but you may find that if you're driving with the car below 2k rpm and then using full throttle, you are putting the flywheel under extra strain due to peak-torque, so if you keep the revs above 2k rpm, the flywheel will last longer?
