Sat Nav frozen!

Featured Replies

Hi all

2nd post (first one disappeared!)

I've got a 56 plate Octavia with the built in sat nav (part of the music system with the big ol' screen). For some reason it just froze today and now it won't work at all.

I removed the disc, reloaded it, turned off the car - everything! All it says when I load the disc is enabling skodanavigation but it hangs on this screen - forever :o

The cd player works fine if I load a music disc though.

I have a 2006 skodanavigation disc disc as well but that does the same.

Any suggestions?

Taking it to the dealers to look at isn't really an option, as it's a lease car and I need it all the time for work!

My navman has done this a few times, and only turnung the battery off will cure it...

you could try disconnecting the car battery? though this may cause other problems....

Microwave? On defrost ;)

Are the discs nice and clean and free of scratches? mine was VERY temperamental with a scratched nav disc in it. It would stay on the green Skoda splash screen.

Is there a dedicated fuse for the nav unit? if there is it might reset it without hoiking off the main battery cable.

Ermmm......take it to the dealers and ask them to give you a courtesy car while they look at it. Most dealers will do this.
