Can anyone advise on a scanner? I am looking at one that can scan say 50 sheets at once from say a sheet feeder straight to a PDF file.

Not sure how much one would be and i don't need one just yet but possibly in the next couple of months.

You'd need an all in-one printer.

HP have some good in-store deals lately. Many feeders will only take 30 or so pages in one hit, so you'll need to keep topping it up if creating one big PDF.
