Electrical issue - vRS SE

Featured Replies

Picked up my new vRS yesterday, and was having great fun until it got dark. I turned on the headlights and noticed they weren't lighting up the road as much as I would expect.

Turns out that with the headlights on the left hand headlight and rear light work fine, but the front headlight has only the sidelight on, and the indicator lights on the right hand side (front and rear) are lit instead.

Dealer tells me there's no way this wasn't checked - tbh I don't believe them as it's obvious and I can't believe it went wrong between the check and me collecting it.

Has anyone got any experience of this being indicative of somethingly badly wrong with the electrics or is it just a wiring screw up?

Just get it back to the dealer, pronto.

In these days of CANBUS, what switch controls what thing goes through an electronic black box rather than a hard-wired loom. It's possible the dealer has scrambled some setting somewhere when doing the PDI. Like Tom's said, you've just got it, let the dealer sort it...

It's going back in tomorrow morning so hopefully fixed soon. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I should be rejecting the car over.
